Is it going to get old if I keep asking you, “how you’re holding up?”
I’m so concerned about everyone. I hope you and your loved ones are safe and healthy. I’m thinking about you every day.
I want to share a few things today in an effort to be helpful - you can just skim to see what’s relevant for you.
Virtual Circle Time Support Group
One of our previous Transform Challenging Behavior Online Conference speakers (he's also a TCB Facebook Group Moderator), Encian Pastel, started a Facebook group on Virtual Circle Time. I'll be honest, I'm hearing some really sweet stories about these virtual circle times so I joined the group myself and am listening with an open mind.
Providing Support/Activities for Families
I have complete faith in you on this one and no links to share. I am so glad families are seeing you as the professional you are and looking to you for advice. That said I will keep putting in a plug for open-ended PLAY, sensory activities, gross motor, open-ended art, and making it all OPTIONAL.
For Owners/Directors (or Share with Your Boss)
If you are an owner/director it’s worth checking out...
This letter by Rhian Evans Allvin, Executive Director of National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) – it talks about hazardous pay duty, NAEYC's advocacy efforts, and more.
Small Business Association government website for loans if you need one to stay afloat.
Online Professional Development
I have gotten a shocking number of inquiries this week about opportunities for professional development. Makes sense if programs are closed and you are home but I incorrectly assumed everyone would just be hiding under the covers.
For those of you who do want to distract yourself with some online learning or who are required to do so by your employers, you can see my suggestions below.
I would love to hear how you’re holding up in the comments, if you’re up for it. That way everyone can benefit from reading your response and they can benefit from hearing about what's going on for you!
And YES, this year’s Transform Challenging Behavior Online Conference is still happening! May 6-12, 2020. Registration opens: April 8. More on this soon.
In the meantime...

Introduction to the Transform Challenging Behavior Method (Webinar Reply)
Click that for access to a webinar I did for Early Childhood Investigations - it’s free and you can even get your downloadable certificate for free! Geared towards administrators but super practical and hopefully helpful to all.
Teaching Social-Emotional Skills to Children Who Exhibit Challenging Behavior (Webinar Replay)
Also on the ECI site, also aimed at admin but hopefully helpful to others as well.
That's what I've got for now. Hope one of those meet your needs. The ECI site where those last two webinars are also has many recorded webinars are various topics.
Lastly, PLEASE don’t ask me if any of these downloadable certificates “count” in your state. I have no idea. Sorry! Some states take them and some don’t. Please ask your supervisor.
